degree murder in deaths of 2 women

TORONTO, Ont. A 42 year old man has been charged with first degree murder in the deaths of two women, Monday.

Adonay Zekarias is accused of killing 55 year old Nighisti Semret in October of 2012. He is also charged in the death of Rigat Essag Ghirmay, 28, whose torso was discovered inside a duffel bag in the Jane and Alliance area in May.

The accused, and both victims, all hail from Eritrea, and police now say they were known to each other. Zekarias knew Semret after moving to Canada and living in a transition house at the same time.

Semret was stabbed to death as she walked home through Cabbagetown from her overnight job at the Delta Chelsea hotel. Toronto Detective Sergeant Gary Giroux said it was this incident that sparked the link between the two cases.Canada Goose Outlet
