2 bodies found inside Deltona home identified

The victims in the apparent murder suicide were identified by the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office as Jonathan Jeanniton, 29, and Akeyla McCoy, 23.

Deputies entered the home and found the bodies of McCoy and Jeanniton in a bedroom. Two small children who were in the home when deputies arrived were unharmed, officials said.

Investigators said that the deaths may be the result of a murder suicide.

“We heard a young lady screaming. We didn’t think anything of it,” said a neighbor, who only wishes to be identified as Alex.

But then the screaming stopped, after Alex heard gunfire next door on Providence Boulevard.

“That was my main concern. I hope the kids are alright,” Alex said.”When our deputies came in contact with those children, they didn’t seem to have any awareness of what was going on,” Davidson said.
